A Valentine’s Day Winner

It’s time to announce the winner of my giveaway for the $10 gift card to TpT. Before I do that, I’d like to say a couple things.

I know this is a busy time for many, especially today being Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday. I want you to know that I love and appreciate each and every one of you. Today was a sad day, as there was another school shooting. This time it was in Florida and it took the lives of 17 children and adults. It’s such a hard time for everyone and it touches so many. My thoughts and prayers to out to everyone affected by this.

I know many might not think that this is the right time to announce a winner, but I think it’s important to carry on and hopefully make the day better for everyone. We need to heal and if this can bring a smile or help someone in need, then it’s all worth it!! So, with that said, the winner of the $10 gift card to TpT is….

40 Days of Lent

I know this is rather last minute, but I have a free printable for you to use at home or in your classroom for Lent.

I’m calling this a color-by-number, but it’s not really that. LOL Once space is colored in for each day of Lent. Certain spaces are specific colors. When completed at the end of Lent, it’ll be a picture that represents Lent/Easter. There is a key so that you know what color each space should be colored.

Ash Wednesday Fun and Learning

Last night’s lesson was all about Ash Wednesday and how it’s the first day of Lent. Advent and Lent are always interesting concepts to teach the kids when it’s all about “waiting” and “preparing”. At their age, they’re just ready for Santa and the Easter Bunny. They soak up the information like sponges!!

After our discussion about Lent, we focused on Ash Wednesday and did this activity page. Since we attend mass as part of class on Ash Wednesday, it’s important the kids know all about the ashes so they know what to expect. After that, we practiced for mass….several times!! Our final activity was a little craft that I made for the kids. They colored the pictures to look like themselves and then we took black paint and put a cross on the foreheads with their thumb.

Today is Ash Wednesday and we celebrate as a class by attending mass. Therefore, there won’t be a page for the Bible ABC’s today. Please check back next week for the next letter in our Bible alphabet!!
