Chaparral Animals

My group was working on biomes.  This has been really informative and fun.  I started posting them before, but got sidetracked.  I’m going to be posting these again ever so often to complete all the habitats.

This set is for chaparral animals.  This habitat/biome is also known as scrub.  I found some new animals that I didn’t know belonged.  It’s been educational for me making these!  These cards are Montessori inspired and use real images.  They can be used for flashcards, 3-part cards, or many other things.

Here’s a thumbnail view of one of the pages with cards….

Alpine Animals

My group is working it’s way through each habitat/biome and the animals that live there.  This has been really informative and fun.  This is the second set of cards in the set that I’m making for each habitat/biome.  The first set was for rainforest animals.

This set is for alpine animals.  I found some new ones that I didn’t know belonged.  It’s been educational for me making these as it is for the kids to use them!!  These cards are Montessori inspired and use real images.  They can be used for flashcards, 3-part cards, or many other things.

Rainforest Animals

We just had a month long theme in my group for habitats.  Additionally, monthly we having animals by biome.  This week we focused on rainforest animals.  I decided to make some rainforest animal cards.

These cards have many uses.  They are Montessori inspired and I used images of real animals.  The cards could be used for flashcards.  Or, they could be 3-part cards where you print out 2 sets and cut one of them apart and match them up to the full card.  They could also be used for memory match or a number of other ways.

All the cards are the same format.  Here’s a thumbnail view of one of the cards….

Easter Initial Letter Sort and Trace

I’m sorry I’m just posting this today. Hopefully there’s still time for you to use it….and there’s always next year!!

This is a set of cards to trace each letter of the alphabet.  As the letters are traced on one cloud, the image with the matching beginning letter is placed on the other cloud.  Please note, this is for initial letter….NOT necessarily initial sound!!  This is also religious based as each card has a cross in the center of the rainbow, so this might now be suitable for all classrooms.

Here’s a thumbnail view of some of the cards….

Looking for Dr. Seuss??

Are you looking for printables to use in your classroom, at home, or in your daycare to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss??  Maybe you just want some fun activities to keep the kids busy on the weekend or after school.  No matter the reason, I have what you need!!

I have lots of free printables to share with you.  In some of the links that I’m about to post, you might find some duplicates, but many won’t be.  Just take your time and browse around!!

On my blog, Commotion from the Ocean of Life, you’ll find a bunch of stuff for “Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss“.  Once upon a time, that’s where I used to share all my printables that I created!!

Next, some of you might remember the “Seuss-icle Followers Contest” that I held right here on this blog.  This contest lasted a week and I offered freebies each day.  Here you can find each of those posts and see just what I offered each day.

With luck and time, I’ll be creating some new materials this week.  Things have just been crazy busy and I’m barely keeping my head above the water right now!!  Keep your eyes open though and hopefully you’ll see something new featuring Dr. Seuss coming your way!!

I’m just so overwhelmed with lesson plans that I haven’t created nearly as much as I wanted to.  However, I took a break long enough today to have a little fun with these adorable pirates.

This is a set of 3-part cards.  The numeral on the pirate’s map is matched to that number of jewels and the number word on the treasure chest.  ARRGGGG!!  There’s a bounty to be had by all mateys!!

Mr. Potato Head

Today, I have lots of printables for home or the classroom featuring Mr. Potato Head.  There’s even a few Mrs. thrown in with it!!

First up, there’s a set of 5×7 posters.  These include money, upper/lower case letters, numeral/number word, and colors.

There’s one set of flashcards for days of the week and months of the year.  Mr. Potato Head’s face is used for a set of “label the color” cards.  Mr. Potato Head as Superman and Mrs. Potato Head as Wonder Woman are a set of shape matching cards with a storage box.  These are matching the shape to the shape word.  Finally for the cards, there’s a set of alphabet clothespin cards to match the lower case letter to the upper case letter that Mr. Potato Head is holding.

You’ll also find a set of banners featuring Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.  These could be used for a themed party or to decorate your classroom!!  To go along with that, there’s a large set of bingo cards featuring Mr. Potato Head (and a few Mrs. Potato Head) dressed in fun ways.

Lastly, there’s a set of memory cards that I previously shared in another post.  These feature Mr. Potato Head wearing the gear of each of the NFL football teams.  However, there are 2 teams missing as he wasn’t available that way or there’s no images available.

Bugs Bunny

I know that it’s been forever (again) since I posted anything.  I’ve really been quite busy with life and also a little discouraged with finding my printables on GigaTribe again.  I just don’t understand the total lack of respect by people who download materials from me or any of the other blogs out there that has items like this available.  Anyway, onto the freebies that I have for you all!!

Yesterday was Bugs Bunny’s birthday, so I had a “challenge” in my group last weekend to make items celebrating this crazy rabbit.  However, my parents were visiting, so I didn’t get to participate in it myself last weekend.  I did get some materials made this week though!!

I created a set of basic puzzles, which are 2-4 pieces each.  There are vertical and horizontal strips, triangles and squares, and 1/2 puzzles.  There’s also a set of 9-piece jigsaw puzzles.  Finally for puzzles, you’ll find a set of number strip puzzles.  Some are numerical order and some are skip counting.

You’ll also find a set of “label the color” cards which feature Bugs face and the color of his face is labeled with the appropriate color.

Next, you’ll get a set of memory cards with a storage box.  There’s 24 images of Bugs Bunny being his silly self on each card.  He’s also seen munching a carrot on the box.  There’s also a Bugs Bunny tic-tac-toe with a couple varieties of tokens….all featuring Bugs.
