Hello my wonderful readers and followers! I know, I’ve been gone for awhile again. I’m probably one of the worst bloggers. I have good intentions and then life happens. The only thing that I now want to do is to TRY to blog more and give you all something to actually read. Summer is here, so I’m going to put my best foot forward in this challenge!
I do come back bearing gifts though! I have a FREEbie printable that you can download for a construction theme in your classroom or at home. There are 20 word cards featuring construction tools. This is a “write the room” activity with 3 differentiated writing sheets. The writing sheets are 2 different styles of lines and 1 with the images of the tools.
If you’d like to download this FREEbie, just click on the cover image above. I hope to see you more often.
Once again this year, many clipartists are offering FREE clipart or other items for Teacher Appreciation Week. We couldn’t create the resources that we do without all the hard work from the artists for the wonderful clipart that they make. Their work is truly amazing!
Teachers are pretty amazing too, no matter where they teach and no matter if they’re in the classroom or at home (or another setting).
Below, you will find a list of the Teacher Appreciation FREEbies that are available. Some you can only get for a limited time and some will always be free. There is a variety of items, but most is clipart. They are showing their appreciation, so be sure to show yours as well by leaving these wonderful people some feedback!
Also, this is the first day, so I’ll be adding to this list. Many of these sellers also offer something each day of Teacher Appreciation week, so since today is only Monday, be sure to check back at their store to see if they’ve offered anything else.
I will continue to add to this list until the end of the week as I find new FREEbies available, so be sure to check back. You can also check out my post from last year, FREE Clipart for Teacher Appreciation Week, to find those resources that might still be available. If you know of anyone that is offering anything for Teacher Appreciation Week, please let me know because I’d be happy to add them to the list!
It’s the that time of year. The time when kids want to dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating. Yet, many of us want our kids to remember their faith during this time of the year. Well, it can be possible for both to happen!!
Below are several links to free (and a couple paid) ideas and printables to do for Halloween or even use during a Fall Fest, Harvest Party, or any activity!!

Last week, my class and my daughter’s class worked on a lesson for creation. She did a cut and paste worksheet that I made. Here are some pictures of her kids working on the page and enjoying it!
Cut and Paste….
It is read like God gave me ears to listen to his creation and God gave me a heart to love his creation. So this page covers the 5 senses as used in creation and makes learning about it fun!
If you’re interested in this cut and paste worksheet, that also include the answer key, you can get it by signing up for my newsletter. It’s an exclusive for subscribers and you’ll receive the password to enter the “For Subscribers” page with your first newsletter.
I know that it’s been awhile, but I have a “Subscriber ONLY” printable that I just uploaded and I’m excited about it. If you don’t already subscribe to the newsletter, you can do so in the right hand column. I don’t like spam either, so you’ll only receive a newsletter when there’s a new blog post. Each newsletter has the current password to the “For Subscribers” page. You also have the option to get the additional newsletter when I post new items in the Shop.
This printable is Pope Francis’ 5 Finger Prayer Poster and Worksheet Pack. It includes 1 poster in color and the on the reverse side, you can print the meaning of the prayer fingers in English or Spanish. In addition to that, there’s a page that can be used as a poster or print multiple on a page to attach to desk as a reminder.
Finally, there are 3 worksheets. These worksheets include cut and paste, label, and matching. They’ll work for a variety of ages/grades to teach, review, or anything to suit your needs for Pope Francis’ 5 Finger Prayer.
I hope that all subscribers like this freebie, but more so that the kids enjoy it!!
I wanted to give everyone an update on what’s happening around The Treasured Schoolhouse. I know I keep disappearing, but there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. Well, and then there’s just life!!
I’ve been trying to make some changes around here that would be good for you and for me. I want things to be easy for you all to access and for me to make it available to you. I love being able to get my materials out there and I’ve been feeling a bit restricted in doing that.
First and foremost, I’ve been getting resources uploaded to my Shop. I’m finally at 50+ items. I still have a long way to go, but there’s finally a variety in there and now it can continue to grow. If you haven’t done so yet, please click here to check out the Shop. Remember, I take requests so if there’s anything that you need, just let me know.
I’ve set up an affiliate program for the Shop. If you have a blog or site, you can earn money by linking to my Shop. If you’re interested, just click on the “Shop Affiliates” tab to learn more. In short, if you link to my shop by posting a text link, logo, or banner on your blog or site, you can earn 25% from every sale made from people clicking on it (if they make a purchase). What a way to make a little extra money!! This tab may eventually move, but it’ll always be available, so just look in the page menu for it if you don’t see it immediately.
I’m also trying to trim line the blog a little bit. I was starting to feel it was cluttered and hard to navigate. I’ve gotten rid of several things and moved a couple others. I will continue to work on this so that it’s easier for you to find your way around The Treasured Schoolhouse.
I haven’t forgotten about the Subscriber Freebie either. I just completed it, although it felt like I was never going to get done. Although I’d love to give you one a month, I know that’s just not going to be possible. I will offer as many as I can though. So, keep an eye out for the new Subscriber Freebie to be posted. Remember, the only way that you can get access to this is by subscribing to the newsletter. It only comes out when there’s a new blog post, so you won’t be receiving a ton of e-mails!!
Another thing that I’ve done is gone through and made notes of items that were listed in blog posts and added an “Add to Cart” button if it’s listed in the Shop. If it’s not in the Shop yet, I made a note for myself and added it to my “to do” list to fix up the resource and try to get it listed in the Shop. That way, you’ll no longer have to look around for those materials.
I’m also trying to work on my social media game. If you don’t follow The Treasured Schoolhouse on social media, you should!! I try to fit in a little personal, along with a little work. I also am working on offering a freebie here or there for followers on social media and that will be the only way to get it….and it’ll be for a limited time. All my social media icons are in the right hand column, so follow me on one….or all of them….or just your favorite!!
So as you can tell, there has been quite a bit going on behind the scenes. Not all of it is visible, but it’s a growing process. I hope that all these changes are things that you will enjoy as you read my blog and visit the Shop. We can grow and change together!!
There’s so many great clipartist out there and sometimes they just don’t get enough recognition. Goodness knows that I couldn’t do a lot of what I do without their hard work and talent.
These clipartists not only help in what we do, but they give back as well. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, there are several that are offering FREE clipart (and more) each day during the week. Most of them are doing it daily, which makes it so much fun to see what’s coming next!!
I’m including a list of all of the ones that I know are doing this for Teacher Appreciation Week. You’ll notice that most of them are on Wednesday or Day 3, so go back each of the rest of the days this week to see what else they have. Please leave them some feedback if you download any of their freebies that they’re offering….they deserved it!!
In addition to the sales, I’m going to be offering some specials, like freebies on Sunday (16 April). You’ll be able to find out about these if you follow my Facebook page. I might even throw something on Instagram or Twitter!!
I hope that you enjoy this celebration as much as I plan on it!!
Are you looking for some good Catholic books to read?? If so, I found an amazing list of free books.
Most of these traditional Catholic books are available in PDF format and some are audio books. They even have some in text format or for the Kindle. There’s also a section of cd’s.
This is an amazing list of books that could teach you something new, refresh your interest, or even change you life. These are all traditional Catholic books that cover catechism and doctrine, saints, Catholic life, Mary, Latin, Jesus, faith, liturgy, texts, and others.
I’m going to be rewarding my newsletter followers with exclusive freebies just for them!! This is something that I’ve wanted to do for awhile and I’ve finally gotten ready to implement it, so I’m really excited to tell you all about how to get exclusive freebies.
The best way to keep up with The Treasured Schoolhouse is to sign-up for the newsletter. That way, you’ll know every time I post to my blog. You won’t be spammed or anything else. You’ll just simply receive an excerpt of the post and you can click on the link to come back to the blog to finish reading it. Best of all, you only receive the newsletter when I post something….and not for anything else!!
So now onto the exclusive offer for followers of the newsletter. YAY!! If you sign-up to receive the newsletter to The Treasured Schoolhouse, you’ll receive a password the next time I post to a freebie. To access the freebie, you’ll be able to click on the link in the newsletter or you can come here to the blog and click on the “For Subscribers” tab. You’ll have to input the password, which will give you access to any freebies that are on the page. Sometimes they will be forever free and sometimes they’ll be free for a certain amount of time.
My goal is to offer a new freebie at least once a month. I can’t promise that though, so we’re going to say a new one will be posted as often as possible. I don’t want to disappoint anyone or break a promise, so for now, that’s what we’re going with!! You never know though, so you’ll want to check back, as there won’t be a notice when a new freebie is listed. I plan on having the freebies that I list be both Christian and educational so that I can cover both of my types of followers.
Also, the password will change often, so you’ll want to check with the newsletter to make sure you have the newest password. You don’t want to lose access to the “For Subscribers” page to grab the freebies!!
If this sounds good to you, please just sign-up to receive the newsletter. If you don’t already subscribe, you can enter your information on the sign-up form over in the right hand column of this blog. If you already do subscribe, then the password will be included in the next newsletter!!

Last night was the first night back to class. I was excited to meet my new kiddos and get back to religious education.
I always start with creation because well, that’s where we started. So much time is spent on rules, what’s expected, homework, prayers, and so on, that the lesson needs to be fairly simple. I break creation down over a couple of lessons and classes. Yesterday, I read the story of creation to them from the Bible. I stop after each day to review what was created that day.
Then, we did a cut & paste worksheet that I made for class. It’s a mat that has each day and what was created on it. So they start off by coloring what was created each day.
Next, we cut out all the different days.
Then, we glued them onto the mat and placed them in their boxes.
Here’s the final project!!
The kids had a blast!! I have a freebie for you, so that your kids can have a blast as well. If you click on the image below, you can download the simple color version of this project. I hope that the kids enjoy!!
Also, this project is available for purchase in my shop. It’s available in color and black & white, plus it has a little bit “fancier” borders on the mat. If you’re interested in purchasing this creation activity worksheet, please justclick hereto view this exclusive item or just click below to add it to your cart.
