The Long Cold Winter

I’m back after a very long “break”!!  We had an absolutely crazy and hectic holiday season.  Then after the first of the year, we all got sick.  We had a very bad bronchitis that had the whole family down for the count.  We still have a cough, but we’re much better.

In my “down time”, I updated a ton of my files that I’ve created.  I had more than I remember and still have plenty to do.  I’ve really enjoyed finding all these things that I’ve made and can’t wait to share them here!!  Since today is Groundhog Day and he saw his shadow, which means 6 more weeks of winter, I decided I’d share my winter materials.  On top of that, here in OK, we had about 3″ of ice and that’s under 6″ of snow.  Crazy!!

Winter Badge

Here’s a list of the printables that you’ll find in the winter file….

  • 6 Coins Winter Fun Puzzle Cards – Match the amount of the 6 coins with the amount on the matching puzzle piece.
  • Winter Fun and Signs of Winter Mirror Cards – These work on symmetry skills.
  • Snowball! – This is my winter version of checkers.
  • Winter Fun CVC Puzzle Cards – Match the CVC word to the image of that word.
  • 3 Sets of Snowman Clothespin Cards – The cards work on matching shape to shape word, counting and matching the number of snowflakes to the numeral, and matching the color to the color word.
  • Winter Kids 3-Part Cards – Match the numeral, number word, and the amount of snowflakes.
  • Snowflake Shapes 2-Part Cards – Match the snowflake shape to the shape word.
  • Snow Fun Magnified – Use a magnifying glass to match the miniature image to the full size.
  • Winter Bingo – This is a bingo game for numbers 1-10.

If you’re interested in any of these printables, just click the image above.  You’ll be taken to the folder that contains all these files.  You can download all of them or just the ones that you want.

The clipart and graphics are from various sources.  Some of the artists are Denyse @ Scrappin’ Doodles, Katie Dupree, Graphics Factory, and Annette @ Kuntry Graphics.  Other images from internet sources and believed to be public domain and they are used for educational purposes without profit.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you enjoy all these free winter activities.  If you use my printables, please leave a comment or use the “contact” button in the right hand column.  I’d also appreciate it if you’d take a second to click the button below to vote for my blog.  I appreciate it and I continue to create by the feedback that I receive!!

Winter Freebie Printables

I’m sorry that I haven’t posted since the new year.  I’ve just been crazy busy getting ready for a big event in my life and I’ve had so much to make sure was ready for my family and my group.  But I’m back for tonight and I’m not just going to share one, but several!!

First up is Winter Kids 3-Part Cards.  These are sort of like a puzzle where you match the number word, the number of snowflakes, and the numeral.  These cards can be found here.  If you click here, you can find Snowflake Shapes.  They’re a set of 2-part cards to match the shape and shape word.  There’s also a storage envelope included.

I also have 2 sets of mirror cards.  The kids will hold a mirror up along the dotted line to finish the image.  This teaches symmetry.  They are Signs of Winter and Winter Fun.  I also have a checkers game that I call Snowball and it’s played just like regular checkers is, but it has a fun winter theme.

There’s Snow Fun Magnified which can be found if you click here.  They will use a magnifying glass to identify the miniature images, then place the full size image of that miniature in the box.  6 Coins Winter Fun can be found in this folder.  This is a set of puzzle cards where the kids add the amount of 6 coins, and then match it to the puzzle card with that amount.

That’s it for now, but that’s a lot of fun and games for the kids on these cold winter days.  That is, unless you’re warm for this time of year!!  I hope that you and the kids enjoy them.  I’m not sure when I’ll be back with more printable freebies.  I expect I’ll be away for a week, but if all goes well, maybe sooner.

If you use my FREE printables, please leave a comment and let me know how you and the little ones like them….or don’t like them. I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the button below once a day to vote for my blog. I love feedback and create by the input that I receive….thanks!!
